Untraditional Bridal Attire
J. CREW SILK TAFFETA SASCHA GOWN
WHITE HOUSE | BLACK MARKET
LIMITED EDITION BRIDAL GOWN
Below: Ruche Vintage Bridesmaid Dresses
A friend of mine directed me to this site: http://www.shopruche.com/lookbook_bridesmaid.html which is a fabulous site that has a specialized section for "Alternative Bridesmaid Dresses." I found it interesting that Ruche would use this as a marketing tool but in reality, most brides automatically think of David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo for bridesmaid dresses, but why not broaden your search? This can go for wedding dresses as well. Lots of retailers are trying to dip their feet into the wedding world such as White House | Black Market and J.Crew. Both stores have online boutiques for wedding dresses that are in congruence with their style. I have a few pictures below and this is just some food for thought for brides searching for their bridesmaid or wedding dresses. Keep in mind that all stores sell dresses, and the styles are more unique than standard wedding attire.

BRIDEZILLAS have feelings too!
I have noticed a lot of people are pretty quick to throw out the word BRIDEZILLA when a bride is being picky about something. I personally would be devastated if someone said that to me! Brides spend so much time planning their weddings and having every detail organized, that when something doesn't work out, could you honestly blame them for being upset?
Of course there are extreme cases where brides have asked her bridesmaids to carry out ridiculous tasks such as loosing 30 pounds for her wedding so you look good in her pictures, or telling each bridesmaid that they have to buy a $300 dress that looks horrible on them. That is just a bride being a flat out bitch, no bridezilla label necessary!
Next time you see a bitching bride, think twice before lashing out with the big BRIDEZILLA comment. It can be very hurtful, unless of course the bride has dubbed herself a Bridezilla, then it becomes free game for anyone to throw that word out there.
With all of these wedding shows cluttering up my DVR, I see a lot of situations where people are called a bridezilla, even though they have every reason in the world to be upset. One instance in particular was features on Whose Wedding is it Anyways? on the STYLE network. It was a bride's wedding day and she was stuffed into her gown and ready to walk down the aisle when her twin sister accidentally stepped on the dress and it ripped. MOMENTS BEFORE WALKING DOWN THE AISLE! Now I am sorry but if you don't get upset then you must either have a good Valium in you, or you're crazy! And just like clockwork, as soon as the bride got upset her sister created a huge scene calling her a bridezilla! Could you even imagine! I would have had a heart attack if I was that bride!
So, in the end. Bridezilla's have hearts too... Sometimes.

Alo-a-ha!
This is by far one of the most beautiful weddings I have seen! I found this article on WeddingWindow.com/blog and these photos are so fabulous I felt I should share them with you! The theme was clearly Tropical with the cake embossed with turtle and sugar tiger lilies as the cake topper. What a beautiful display in such a fabulous venue. The wedding took place in Santa Cruz, California and the phenomenal use of the scenery made this venue light up. The massive windows and airy flow gave the reception an airy and comfortable feeling.
The Star Fish gifts at every table really add a simple splash of color. What a fantastic way to do your place cards and wedding favors all in one shot. This really reflects the ocean and all of the elements that came together for this wedding. You can also save money by doing your linens in white and using other accessories to add color. Colored and textured linens add up very quickly, and this is a great way to save!
Whaaaaaat?! Is that GOLDFISH in their centerpieces? I AM IN LOVE!! Who would have never thought to put goldfish as their centerpieces? The flowers and rocks make it look like you are underwater and the fish really are the icing on the cake. The cream seashells and candles set off the room and since the couple saved by doing away with massive amounts of flowers for the centerpieces, this was a great money saving/interesting plan!

Apples to Apples
It seems like we are in the booming brides era where more and more people are planning creative weddings. While doing some Face-Creeping on Facebook, I found some pictures of a wedding that took place in the Spring of 2010. Black, White and Green splashed all over the scene making this wedding one to remember.
I had to add the pictures with the Mr. and Mrs. Strawberries. I am tickled pink about how creative people are getting with their food. What is next for brides? Will they be using fruit to make an entire bridal party with creative edible decor? I could just eat this trend up!
